Açaí
Three spreads for brazilian Magazine Superinteressante, an article about açaí, the Brazilian berry with a lot of antioxidants and nutrients. It's also about the people who harvest the fruits, they're called ribeirinhos and live along the rivers in the Amazon. I'm really excited to share these illustrations!
The ribeirinhos, are the people who live near rivers in the Amazon, they harvest and prepare açaí: they scale the trees, bring down the berry clusters, then pull off the fruit and soak it for hours in water to soften the skin and flesh. It's a very physically challenging job.
